Roll of Victory winners awarded at the 2023 Angus Convention

Champions in the ring received recognition at the 2023 Awards Dinner in Orlando, Florida.

Angus cattle have a tradition of excellence in the show ring, and that history continues across the country each year. The American Angus Association® created the Roll of Victory (ROV) Show Program in 1984 to recognize show-winning animals, their sires, dams, breeders and owners on a per year basis.

The ROV Show Heifer of the Year, Conley FRKG Queen Meg 1085; the ROV Bull of the Year, Conley Ransom 1810; and the ROV Breeder of the Year, Express Ranches, were honored at the 2023 Association Awards Dinner and Reception on November 5 in Orlando, Florida. The awards dinner was part of the Angus Convention program.

“The 2022 to 2023 ROV show program included 20 shows across the country. The ROV program continues to showcase the top Angus cattle in the country as they compete for top honors every year,” said Caitlyn Brandt, director of events and junior activities. “We congratulate the winners on their achievements.”

The ROV season runs from June 1 through May 31, and the 20 shows consist of seven Super ROV shows and 13 other recognized shows. Points for these shows are accumulated on an annual basis, rather than on accumulation of points over many years.

The ROV Show Heifer of the Year was Conley FRKG Queen Meg 1085 owned by Houston Ferree of Sullivan, Indiana. The heifer received supreme and grand champion honors at the All-American Angus Breeders Futurity and the Atlantic National Show, grand champion honors at the Cattlemen’s Congress Show and reserve honors at the National Junior Angus Show.
