The Indiana Angus Association joins the agricultural community in remembering Donald “Don” J. Snider, 77, of New Paris, Indiana, who passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Born April 23, 1949, to William and Mary (Clayton) Snider, Don spent his life dedicated to family, agriculture, and the beef cattle industry.

A 1967 graduate of New Paris High School, Don went on to earn an associate degree in business from South Bend College of Commerce. Throughout his career, he worked for First National Bank, Nutritional Blending, and North Central Cooperative, where he remained until retirement.

Don's commitment to the Angus breed was evident through his involvement in the National Angus Association, Elkhart County Beef Cattlemen Association, and Purdue University's Indiana Bull Evaluation Program (IBEP). His participation in the program helped advance the development of quality Angus bulls.

Beyond his contributions to the cattle industry, Don was passionate about supporting young people in agriculture. Through his involvement with the 4-H Beef Club, he shared his knowledge and encouraged future generations of cattle producers.

Affectionately known as "Uncle Boose" to family and friends, Don was remembered for his generosity, strong work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand. His dedication to the Angus breed and the relationships he built throughout the industry will remain an important part of his legacy.
