Angus enthusiasts led 192 entries at the 2018 Central Illinois Angus Association Preview Show, June 1, in Bloomington, Ill. Jim Pipkin, Republic, Mo., evaluated the 20 bulls, 157 females, 11 steers and four cow-calf pairs.
Dameron Northern Frontier earned grand champion bull honors after first winning junior champion. Jack Dameron, Towanda, Ill., owns the January 2017 son of DDA Dameron Northern Light.
Wilson Cattle Company, Cloverdale, Ind., and Olivia Wilson, Ogden, Ill., own the reserve grand champion bull. WCC Lasso E50 is a May 2017 son of PVF Insight 0129. He first won intermediate champion.
Dameron Barbara 765 won grand champion female. Ella Brooks, Prophetstown, Ill., owns the March 2017 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303. She first won late junior champion.
FCF Blackbird 658 was named reserve grand champion female after first winning senior champion. Sierra Day, Cerro Gordo, Ill., owns the September 2016 daughter of PVF Surveillance 4129.
Schafers Prince Harry 7308 won grand champion steer. Eric Schafer, Owaneco, Ill., owns the March 2017 son of BSF Hot Lotto 1401.
Skyler Fischer, Freeport, Ill., exhibited the reserve grand champion steer. TL Primo 21 is an April 2017 son of Colburn Primo 5153.
Emily Kiesewetter, Farmington, Ill., captured grand champion cow-calf pair honors. Top Line Abigale 6074 is a March 2016 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. A March 2018 heifer calf sired by K A Black Loch 626 is at side.
FCF Proven Queen 632 won reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Sierra Day, Cerro Gordo, Ill., owns the March 2016 daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B. A March 2018 heifer calf sired by PVF Insight 0129 completes the winning pair.
